HHS Colorectal Cancer Screening Program: Did you know that Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Ontario and the third most common cancer diagnosed in the province? ColonCancerCheck and Hamilton Health Sciences aims to reduce deaths from colorectal cancer. Click on the link to learn more about the program and how you can help reduce your risk. 

Sleep Tips: Do you have trouble sleeping, feel tired, and/or work shifts? Here are a few tips to help you get the rest you need to feel alert and refreshed.

Best Life Rewarded: BestLifeRewarded® is a health promotion rewards program designed to get Canadians healthy. This interactive site provides reward points to people who take action to live healthy. Reading information on nutrition, active living, a personal health disease or condition, as well as tracking their behaviours will earn members points that may be used for over 150 healthy rewards. 

Low Risk Drinking Guidelines: Find out how you can moderate your alcohol consumption and reduce your immediate and long-term alcohol-related harm. If all Canadian drinkers were drinking alcohol within the proposed guidelines, it is estimated that alcohol-related deaths would be reduced by approximately 4,600 per year. 

Rethink Your Drinking: Rethink your drinking is an awareness campaign promoted by 9 health units in Southwestern Ontario to help change the way we think about and use alcohol. We want you, and our communities, to "rethink your drinking" by looking at your relationship with alcohol, like why, when and how much we drink. 

Travel Health: Planning a vacation? Find out what precautions you need to be taking in order to stay healthy on your trip and return home healthy. 

Sun Safety: Before going out to enjoy the good weather, make sure you are aware of the risks associated with prolonged exposure to the sun and the measures you can take to protect yourself and your family. 

Protect Your Health…Get Immunized! Learn about the Vaccine Preventable Disease program in Hamilton which includes seasonal influenza, childhood immunizations, Hep B, Meningitis, HPV, and more. The program aims to reduce the frequency, severity and impact of vaccine preventable diseases for Hamilton residents.
